PARENTS with children under school age can expect a warm welcome every Thursday at Little Gems toddler group at the Melksham United Church.
With no formal attendance charges, this donation-only group was founded by a young mother three years ago, to provide a place to chat and ‘have a cuppa’ and give her child an opportunity to play with others. Since then, many parents and children have appreciated the refreshments and well equipped play activities throughout the year. Babies and up to school age children can enjoy a snack, lots of toys and regular activities such as singing, craft and general play in a safe environment. Meanwhile parents get the opportunity to meet others and form friendships which often continue outside the group.
As well as the only cost being a donation of what you can afford, an added attraction of Little Gems is that they also remain open throughout the summer holidays, so that those staying local can enjoy the benefits of company and play over this sometimes lonely, school break.
Little Gems is on every Thursday morning at Melksham United Church in the High Street. Drop in between 10am to 11.30am. For further details contact: Rev’d Cathy Arscott on 01225 702232 or email: carscott@wiltsunitedchurches.org.uk
