THE Riverside Centre has now started to provide live music events and kicked off with a free entry event when they had their charity annual general meeting.
The event took place on 20th June where there was a licensed bar and a performance by MGB (Mandy and Bob).
“Mandy’s singing was superb, together with her versatility on the cajon, recorder and kazzo,” says chair of the centre, Chris Pickett. “The songs were contemporary, musicals from the shows and much more. Bob accompanied on guitar and synthesizer, enriching the experience.
“If you missed the event, we are sorry however, the Riverside Centre hopes to bring you more of the same on Friday 12th July at 7.30pm with a Macapello Concert. Tickets cost £6 in advance from treasurer@theriverside.org.uk or on the door at £7.
“A licensed bar will again be available. Other events will include an open mic for budding young musicians, a country bluegrass music evening and much more. The Riverside Centre is now no longer just a place for older people, but a venue for all the community to enjoy.”
