THE Unravelling Wilburys will be performing at the Assembly Hall on Friday 3rd September.
The organisers explain, “Community venues are thankfully now reopening their doors to live shows again following the dreadful pandemic. The Unravelling Wilburys have left their shacks in The Appalachians to travel to Melksham’s Assembly Hall to kick start live music again! This top tribute show is more than just a tribute – they are the complete package!
“The Unravelling Wil-burys are made up of Sticky Willy, Walter, Thumper, Blind Melon and Honky Tonk Wilbury, the ‘real’ Wilbury brothers, who grew up in an Appalachian shack and first presented their songs in Nashville back in 1987. Their great combination of brilliant musicianship and tongue in cheek humour has had rave reviews throughout the UK.
“Performing at the Assembly Hall on Friday 3rd September, the band will be playing the songs of the 1980’s supergroup The Travelling Wilburys, along with some choice numbers from its five iconic members; Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, George Harrison, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne.
“Songs such as ‘End of the Line’, ‘Handle with Care’, ‘The Devil’s Been Busy’, and ‘Tweeter and The Monkey Man’ form the basis of the set, with additional choice cuts such as ‘Pretty Woman’ (Orbison), ‘Mr Blue Sky’ (Lynne), ‘American Girl (Petty), ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’ (Harrison), and ‘Mr Tambourine Man’ (Dylan) to name a few.
