MELKSHAM’S Covid vaccination team were recently treated to an evening of food and drinks as a way for the community to say ‘thank you’ for their efforts.

The evening, enjoyed by 25 volunteers from the vaccination team, was paid for by a fundraiser organised by the High Street micropub, The Hiding Place.
Surplus money raised, a total of £989, will be split evenly between local charities Wiltshire Mind and 4Youth (South West), known locally as Young Melksham.
“The volunteers had a really super time and would like to thank Malcolm and Karen from The Hiding Place for taking the time to coordinate, fundraise and run the event,” said Dr Abby Burgess on behalf of the vaccination team.
“The team were so grateful and touched that the community wanted to show their appreciation for the vaccine service delivered by the Melksham and Bradford on Avon practices, thank you to all who donated.”
The vaccine centre is now busy delivering the Spring booster to over 75’s, 5-11 year olds and anyone who is due a 1st, 2nd or booster dose. See story on page 13.
Dr Abby Burgess continues, “Please book your vaccine using the National Booking Service or walk in to one of the clinics which run every Tuesday and Thursday in March and April, 5pm to 8.30pm, as well as Saturday 9th and 30th April, 10am to 4pm. With Covid levels high in the local community it is vital you get your spring booster as soon as possible. Please be aware this booster must be a minimum of 91 days after your last vaccine dose.”
