With an appearance on the final of the “Great British Menu” where she was described as ‘one of the rising stars of British music’, local girl, Kate Lomas from Broughton Gifford, is making her mark on the music industry.
Kate performed her former Radio 1 track of the week, “Drink 2 U”, to an audience of music industry VIPs at the final banquet filmed at Abbey Road Studios. The programme was broadcast on BBC 2 on Friday 17th May.
With over a million streams on Spotify and a live recording session for BBC Introducing at Maida Vale Studios already under her belt, Kate is ready to take the music world by storm with the release of her next track “Happy Like This” on 31st May. Kate and her long-term collaborator, Chippenham based Guy Britton, enlisted the help of students from The Corsham School to record the chorus for this anthemic single which is about embracing the moment and living in the here and now.
“I’m super excited to have had the help from my old school, the students were brilliant to work with and they brought a whole new feeling to the track” said Kate.
