LOCAL woman, Jan Pitney, has received a certificate of appreciation in recognition of 10 years as a volunteer at Melksham Hospital.
The Volunteer Long Service Awards recognised the work of 12 volunteers who have given their time to Community Health Services in Wiltshire.
Suzanne Bennett, voluntary services coordinator said, “Jan started volunteering for us when she moved to the area, on Ivan Keir ward at Melksham Community Hospital on 26th October 2006, and currently helps with the integrated community team at the hospital with administration tasks. Jan is one of our volunteers who just comes in and gets on with what needs doing, she always offers to help out with any additional jobs when she can.
“She also helps the housebound elderly in her village of Whitley, with their shopping, which clearly demonstrates her kindness and the sort of person that she is.”
