A LOCAL veterinary practice has been awarded a prestigious accreditation for achieving the highest standards of veterinary care.
Chalkland Vets based on the Melksham High Street, has been awarded the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards (PSS) accreditation after completing an independent assessment, meeting a range of standards in hygiene, 24-hour emergency cover, staff training, equipment and cost estimation procedures.
“We are delighted to have achieved RCVS accreditation at our Melksham clinic,” says veterinary surgeon Dr. Selina Walters. “We are proud to be recognised as meeting RCVS standards for hygiene, clinical skills, available equipment and staff training.”
With a practice also in Chippenham, Chalkland Vets offers a range of services from consultations to ultrasounds, laparoscopic surgery, nurse clinics, home visits and more, to ensure they can help with whatever your pet may need.
“We work hard to provide and maintain high standards of care to our patients and excellent customer service,” adds Selina.
“We invest in staff training, equipment and new software, such as PetsApp and VidiVet. We strive to constantly review and improve our service and ask for regular customer feedback which helps us to do so.
“We have also achieved ISFM cat-friendly and rabbit-friendly silver status. We are currently working towards achieving our dog-friendly badge too, by adhering to our fear free approach to treatment.”
The practice will be subject to spot-checks between assessments; the aim is to offer peace of mind to clients and a more informed choice to the animal-owning public.
