LOCAL resident, Tracie Winslow, has organised a sponsored walk on Sunday 16th September to raise money for Breast Cancer Care after her family’s experience this year.
Originally planned for just a few to take part, the sponsored walk has now reached more people, with over 30 people now pledging to walk six miles along the canal path from Bowerhill to Devizes.
Tracie said, “Our family has been affected by it this year and I felt I wanted to raise awareness and vital funds. The walk is for all ages, male and female, and all abilities. There will be plenty of us there to help anyone who needs it. If anyone would like to join us, call or text me on 07958 802794.”
The walk will begin at 1pm on Sunday 16th September and end at The Black Horse pub in Devizes where there will be a raffle and an auction.
Tracie continued, “We have some wonderful prizes already, kindly donated by Meads of Melksham, Beechfield, Water Meadow, Neston, Lowden, Christie Miller, Griffs Barbershop and many more. If any business would like to donate a prize, that would be brilliant! The justgiving fundraising page is www.justgiving.com/traciewinslow75 if you would like to sponsor us. We would all be so grateful.
“If you can’t manage the walk, but would like to support us, we’d love to see you on the day! We are hoping for a dry day – we’re going to have a fantastic afternoon.”
