EMPLOYEES from the Coventry Building Society will be taking part in the Bath Midnight Walk next month to raise money for Dorothy House.
Five women from the Melksham branch will take part in the 8km night walk in their pyjamas in the hope of raising £500 for the local hospice.
On Saturday 12th September Shona Barker will be doing the walk for the tenth year in a row. She will be joined by colleagues Natasha Wood, Lucy Fleming, Rhianna Annetts and Carey Welch.
Shona said, “I’m really looking forward to the walk; I love doing it because it’s a fun and different way to raise money for a good local cause.
“We do a lot of fundraising for Dorothy House and they’ve been our community partner for three years.
“This will be the first time I have done it with the team in Melksham. We’re planning to go for dinner together first, then hopefully the weather will be good for the walk!
“We’re up to £150 now, but are hoping to raise £500 between us. The Coventry will match whatever we raise, up to £200 each.”
To sponsor the women’s fundraising effort visit them in branch at The Coventry, 23 High Street, Melksham.
The Coventry is a national building society with 70 branches across the country.
The Bath Midnight Walk is an event organised by Dorothy House Hospice Care to raise money for their palliative care services. It is exclusively for women and takes place on a course round Bath starting and ending at Southgate.
