A MELKSHAM member of the armed forces recently completed the London Marathon to raise money for Dorothy House Hospice.
Michael Jones ran the marathon in under four hours, raising money to thank the hospice for all the great work and amazing care they did for his friend Ian, who sadly lost his battle with cancer passing away peacefully at Dorothy House on the 26th August this year.
“I am a Melksham resident who is a serving member of the Armed Forces,” said Michael. “Recently a very dear friend of mine (ex-army) was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He received some amazing care at Dorothy House Hospice, so I decided I would raise money for the charity by running the London Marathon. This represented a huge personal challenge, as I had never run a marathon before.”
