MELKSHAM Link provides a vital service to the Melksham area. Last year our volunteers took over 900 people to their medical appointments, waited for them and took them home.
All our drivers are volunteers who very much enjoy helping others and all of them feel like they are putting something back into the community. If you want to feel like really making a difference in your community then come and join us at Melksham Link.
Demand for the service is constantly growing and we are always looking to take on more drivers to help us keep up our excellent service. The great thing about volunteering for Link is that you choose your days and times that you wish to offer and you can choose where you are willing to go to. Some drivers only do local trips whilst others are happy to go further afield. Drivers get paid expenses for their trips.
We also very much need volunteers who are willing to answer the phone and organise the trips. Matching a client to an available driver is key to our organisation. We provide a phone, laptop, training and support. Coordinators work in their own homes on a rota basis.
