MANCHESTER United legends are coming to town next week as Melksham Town host the Red Devils in a special friendly at infiLED Stadium.
The Legends line-up will include Treble winners Wes Brown and David May; Lee Martin, scorer of the winning goal in the FA Cup Final against Crystal Palace; Premier League winner Chris Eagles and other stars including Russell Beardsmore, goalkeeper Nick Culkin, Danny Webber, Keith Gillespie (capped 86 times for Northern Ireland) , Chris Casper, Derek Brazil and Ben Thornley.
The United side will also include special guests ex-Sunderland and England player, Micky Gray and ex-Aston Villa star, Lee Hendrie.
The Legends will take on a Melksham Town XI team, made up of local veterans or players who have played for the club within the last 20 years, on Sunday 1st August, kick-off at 2pm.

In the build-up to the match, Town have launched a silent auction to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, with an England shirt from this year’s Euro 2020 tournament, signed by all the playing squad. up for grabs.
Also up for auction is a signed Edinson Cavani Manchester United shirt, with letter of authenticity; a signed Leeds United shirt, signed by all the players, with letter of authenticity; a signed Tyrone Mings (and hopefully Jack Grealish) Aston Villa shirt; a signed Bristol Rovers shirt; and much more.
Club chair, Darren Perrin said, “It’s fantastic and a real coup for the club that these players have agreed to come and play us again, to try and raise some much needed funds for the Club and also to support our two chosen charities. To see the likes of Wes Brown, Chris Eagles, Keith Gillespie and the special guests is amazing and we urge all the people in Wiltshire and especially Melksham to get your tickets asap.”
On behalf of the Manchester United Legends team, Russell Beardsmore said, “Our former Manchester United players and two guests are looking forward to coming to Melksham Town FC again to play against a Melksham Town XI on Sunday 1st August.
“We played on two other occasions and were made very welcome by the club and were amazed by the incredible support that Melksham received.
“We have lost the two other games hence why a younger, fitter squad and we will be definitely looking to put the record straight on August 1st. We look forward to seeing you all after quite an horrific year for everyone. Stay safe and well.”
