AFTER last week’s poor batting display, Melksham set out to put that performance to rest as they batted first away at Bathford.
The regular loss of wickets was not enough to stop Melksham from piling up the runs as they were able to build partnerships all the way down the batting line up.
With nearly all the Melksham batsmen contributing, they were able to reach 203 before they were all out in the 43rd over, despite no one reaching 30.
In reply to Melksham’s total, Bathford lost two quick wickets to the bowling of Jack Footner, before batsmen Vowles and Murray put on a stand of 84 to set Bathford up well for the second half of their innings.
However, after Scott Cameron claimed two wickets in consecutive balls, Bathford lost their last seven wickets for just 15 runs as Charlie Waylen claimed figures of 4 wickets for 18 runs.
