The Heavenly Chord – Jon Lock and Nich Angell’s book launch – Launching at Melksham Comic Con, it’s the indie comics crossover event of the century! Melksham Comic Con stalwarts Nich and Jon will launch the book at the convention, hosting a Q&A panel about their newest collaboration as well as future projects.

Melksham Comic Con Raffle – The convention will be holding a raffle to raise money for future events, and have assembled a range of great prizes for people to try and win.

The prizes have a value that totals well over £1,000 and up for grabs are a selection of statues, action figures, model kits, books and other merchandise that any self-respecting comics fan would be glad to get their hands on!

Note: In order to win a prize, attendees MUST be present for the raffle draw at 4.00pm. If a ticket is drawn and no-one is there to claim the prize, the ticket will be redrawn.

Social Media Scavenger Hunt – Attendees will have the opportunity to win bonus prizes by hunting down the collection of 10 miniature Brians (the convention’s mascot character) that will be hidden around the venue.  To win a prize, attendees will have to get photos of those Brians and upload them to either Facebook or Twitter, and tag the convention pages in those photos.

Once again Melksham Comic con is happy to announce that Dave Hickory, balloon sculptor extraordinaire will be joining them for the convention! Attendees from last year will surely remember his remarkable comic-themed constructions, including Captain America’s shield and Thor’s hammer! This year he is returning for the whole day, and will be roaming around the venue, making just about anything you could ask him to!

Also, there will be a face painting table  which is free of charge.

Matt Gatty of Melksham Comic Con said, “We are also pleased to announce that we will once again have a photographer on staff, who will be wandering around snapping pictures of the event and attendees. If you’re coming to the event in cosplay, you just might end up being part of the promotional material for next year’s event, so smarten up those costumes!”

Louis Louis Cake Couture – The wizards at Louis Louis Cake Couture (www.louislouis.co.uk) will be displaying a FULL-SIZE Harley Quinn character cake throughout the day, on the convention stage! This incredible creation will also feature a removable (and completely edible!) Joker doll accessory that will be up for grabs as a prize in the raffle.

Melksham Writers Group Book Launch – The Melksham Writers Group will be launching their first book, ‘The Identity Anthology’ at the convention this year! A limited run of paperback copies will be available, with an e-book version also available later in the year.

As well as all of this amazing stuff, there will also be a few more surprises on the day, but you’ll just have to come along to find out what they will be! See you on Saturday!
