ORGANISERS of Melksham Comic-Con have announced that the convention will not be returning this year as planned and that the group are ‘calling it a day’.
The hugely successful event was last held in 2016, drawing hundreds of comic fans from across the country. It was announced last year that the convention would be taking a hiatus in 2017, to prepare for its return in the summer of 2018.
The Melksham Comic-Con team known as, The Brians said, “As the comic convention season begins, it is with some sadness that we announce that Melksham Comic-Con will not be returning for 2018 as originally planned. Many of the Brians have moved on to pastures new since the wonderful MCC 2016, taking on new challenges and responsibilities in their day to day lives and new, wonderful adventures await them. As such, we have decided to call it a day.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our you for your continuous support since 2012; we have had a truly wonderful time bringing our events to you. We hope that the legacy of the Brians will continue to shine on through those events that have been inspired by Melksham Comic-Con’s hard work and dreams to bring a mainstream comic convention to a small town.
“Have a wonderful time catching up with many of our guests and friends at some of the many conventions in the area. Thank you for making Melksham Comic Con so amazing, we will miss you all!”
