“WHAT an amazing start to this new project” said councillor Louisa Lewis, the founder of Melksham Community Dining which held its first lunch earlier last month.
“The free lunches were a great success and the diners were soon making new friends. The great ambience cut across all generations with the diners enjoying an after-lunch comedy quiz by former ballet teacher, Dee Macleod.
“It was lovely to see Independent councillor Graham Ellis with his wife Lisa attend the opening of Melksham Community Dining at Bowerhill Village Hall last Wednesday (29th Sept).
“We would like to thank our wonderful volunteers, who worked so hard to keep the wheels turning and a big thank you to Melksham Independent News whose coverage helped make our opening day so successful and so well attended. Dining at Bowerhill Village Hall opens the doors not only to a free lunch but also an opportunity to meet new friends and join in several activities.
“The lunches take place every Wednesday from 1pm-4pm. Please remember to book by telephoning Louisa, on 01225 374232 or 07492 693671.
“As your Independent town councillor I am at the lunch every Wednesday to welcome you, and also to listen and help you in any way I can. I look forward to seeing you.”
