A Melksham firm is celebrating 10 years in business by purchasing the freehold of their 1.77 acre site located on the outskirts of the town.
Established in 2003, partners Christine Wood and Dennis Clark, who own and manage The Riverside MOT testing centre located just off the Bradford-on-Avon roundabout, have secured the future of their business by accessing £180,000 through Barclays and the government backed funding for lending scheme.
The testing centre is well known for its striking vehicle displays positioned at the front of its premises and is currently showcasing a hunter aircraft. Christine, who manages the front of office and has a background of working in customer facing roles, including a garage said, “This is a major milestone for our business. We pride ourselves in delivering excellent service and value for money and have built up a loyal client base over the years which we can now offer our services to indefinitely. By investing in our business in this way and with the support from our bank we can now plan for the future.”
The Riverside MOT testing centre caters well for female motorists as Christine’s experience and knowledge enables her to de-mystify mechanical jargon, ensuring customers understand the best option and costs if their vehicle needs additional work to pass a MOT. The centre not only MOT’s cars, but bikes, trikes, light good vehicles and motorhomes. Kelly Burge, Barclays business manager said, “Many local businesses may not consider contacting their bank for funding in instances such as this. This is a great example of how Barclays provided the funding to secure the freehold utilising its ‘Cashback for Business’ scheme which incorporates an instant cashback injection which in turn will help boost the firm’s finances.”
The business employs five full and part time staff and sources mechanical parts locally benefiting the Melksham economy.
The Riverside MOT testing centre fixed fees range from £43.50 for cars to £48.50 for motor homes and is open Monday to Friday 8.00am until 5.30pm and 8.00am to 1.00pm on Saturdays. To find out more contact Christine on 707555.
