Melksham’s flag team are starting to plan ideas for their next display and are inviting residents to join at their next meeting on 15th October.
The group are responsible for designing and displaying flags in the town centre and around the Market Place. The recent display over the summer was of Melksham’s industrial past, with each flag depicting a scene from the town’s history — ranging from the granting of the Market Charter in 1219 to the closure of Avon Tyres in 2023.
The flags have now been put in storage and the team are welcoming residents to join them at their next meeting on Wednesday 15th October at the town hall to share new ideas.
Organiser Terri Welch said, “We would welcome new workers; you don’t need to be a fantastic sewer to join. We need ideas, and people with artistic talent are most welcome. So do come along and join Melksham’s flag team.”
The meeting will start at 10am.
