A TEENAGER from Melksham has had her head shaved by her mum to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Vicki Morey, 16, had her head shaved at Tops Hair Salon with her mum Lucy Morey who is a stylist at the salon doing the honours.
So far she has raised over £500 from the head shave and the Lackham College student was supported by around 30 friends and family who watched.
Vicki said, “I wanted to shave my hair off so that I could have a fresh start with my hair. I thought I’d raise some money at the same time for a cause which has touched the lives of my family and friends. It feels strange to have a shaved head but my friends have given me lots of woolly hats which have been very useful!”
Vicki’s mum Lucy added, “I never thought I’d be shaving my daughter’s hair off! Im extremely proud of Vicki and I’d like to thank everyone for their support and help in raising over £500 and to Tops for hosting the head shave.”
