A Melksham couple have raised over £1,000 for the RUH Cancer Care Campaign in memory of their daughter by holding a garden party.
Bev and John Viveash held the event on Saturday 28th June which included a cake stall, tombola, raffle, handmade cards, craft table and barbecue to raise funds.
Bev and John said, “This event was also in memory of our daughter Nicola who died of cancer in March 2013; the 28th June would have been her 30th birthday.
“At 12.01pm (the time she was born) we marked the occasion with birthday cake and Nic’s favourite drink Malibu and coke.
“Despite weather ranging from sunshine to torrential rain, everybody had a good time and approx. £1,255 was raised on the day, with further donations still to come.
“Thanks go to all our helpers, everyone who attended and also the following business who generously donated prizes and supported us: Asda, Autoline, Beechfield House, Costa, Countrywide, Edwards Stationery, Factory Shop, Gompels, Halfords, Kings Arms, Leekes, Lidl, McDonald’s, Sainsbury’s, Shaw Country Hotel, Waitrose and Wellsway Mini.”
