Melksham Town FC Girls’ Rebecca Fairley has fulfilled a childhood dream as she was mascot for Liverpool FC earlier this month.
Rebecca who plays for Melksham Town Girls U11 team, won a competition to be the mascot at the Liverpool V Manchester United game on Sunday 17th January.
Rebecca’s mum Kate Fairley said, “She absolutely loves Liverpool, well, football in general, but she is crazy about Liverpool. Her ultimate dream is to play for Liverpool Ladies FC.
“We all went up as a family and made a weekend of it. She only had two tickets for the game so she took her dad and brother.
“It was brilliant and she had a great time. The staff and the players were fantastic and the whole experience was amazing.
“She met all the players and had a kick about with the captain before the game. There was a museum tour and she was given a kit as well. She wore a Go-Pro camera as she walked out onto the pitch and was interviewed, which they’re going to use as marketing material.
“She wasn’t nervous initially but she said the minutes before they walked out onto the pitch, the noise of the crowd went right through her body and just being there, at Anfield, was overwhelming. She took it all in her stride though, she is a very confident girl.”
