MELKSHAM in Bloom winner, Bruce Petty, has received his award as the overall winner of this year’s Melksham in Bloom.
Mayor of Melksham, cllr Chris Petty, handed out the awards to all the category winners as part of the Open Flower & Produce Show held at Assembly Hall. Bruce Petty received the inaugural Sheila Wilkinson Cup for overall winner of the competition. It was agreed at a recent town council meeting to rename the cup after Sheila had decided earlier in the year to stand down as councillor, after serving for over 30 years as a town councillor and in recognition of her enormous contribution to the community of Melksham. Unfortunately Sheila was unable to attend the event to present the award due to ill health.
