THE next Melksham Makers’ Market will be held on Saturday 28th August
The organisers report, “If you’re looking for something to do on Bank Holiday weekend then why not come down to the Melksham Market Place for the August Bank Holiday Melksham Makers’ Market?!”
“The market takes place on the last Saturday of each month from April to October and hosts a wide variety of local makers and small creative businesses. Its aim is to showcase the local artists and crafters, as well as use the Market Place for what it is intended – to hold a market!”
Sarah Hillman said, ““We’re so lucky to be able to use the Market Place for our monthly markets and love seeing it full of talented makers showing off their makes with customers looking for a special handmade gift.’
Sarah’s partner in crime Nicola adds, “For our August market, we’re excited that some traders from north of the county will be joining us. Lisa Lowe from Oohlovelyliloceramics (www.facebook.com/oohlovelyliloceramics) will be sharing one of our large gazebos with Tracey Mosley from Mrs Mosley’s Posies (www.facebook. com/mrsmosleysposies). Tracey offers local, freshly cut, seasonal flowers using eco-friendly methods as much as possible, and a wide range of garden and home décor.”
Lisa, who is a ceramic artist in old town Swindon, specialises in hand thrown/built homeware and gifts, as well as running pottery classes and working on commissions too. Lisa says, “I love coming to the Melksham Makers’ Market! The Market Place is a great venue and the people of Melksham are so friendly; I love chatting to them about my ceramics and pottery classes.”
Tracey adds, “Lisa is absolutely correct; we love being part of the Melksham Makers’ Market and having the opportunity to share our crafts. It’s great being in the centre of Melksham as we’re so visible, meaning lots of Saturday shoppers stop for a good look around!”
Find Sarah (www.facebook.com/florrieandjean), and Nicola (www.thesecretcrocheter.com), along with Lisa, Tracey and all the other marvellous makers on Saturday 28th August from 9-2pm.
