A popular market returns this month, bringing together some of the best small businesses from Melksham and the surrounding towns.
The Melksham Makers’ Market will be in the Market Place on Saturday 30th May, from 9am until 2pm.
Now in its eighth year, the market has become a popular monthly event for both locals and visitors, celebrating independent makers, friendly faces and the importance of shopping small.
It is organised by Nicola from The Secret Crocheter and Sarah from Florrie and Jean, with support from Melksham Town Council.
Nicola said, “One of the things we’re most proud of is that all of our traders are local. Every stall belongs to a real person from our area, whether that’s someone baking cakes from their home kitchen, creating jewellery in a home studio, keeping bees locally for their honey or handmaking skincare products in small batches.
“Visitors can expect a lovely mix of stalls, including local honey, home-baked cakes, handmade jewellery, skincare and wellbeing products, flowers, gifts, treats for your four-legged friends and what we firmly believe is the best coffee in the universe from Roc and Box.”
Sarah added, “We started the market because we wanted to create something that truly celebrated local creativity and small businesses. Eight years later, it’s still one of our favourite days of the month. There’s such a lovely atmosphere around the Market Place and it means so much seeing people choosing to support local makers.
“A big thank you goes to Melksham Town Council for their continued support in helping bring the market to life each month.”
Entry to the market is free and everyone is welcome.
