Melksham’s own small business stars will be out in force this month as the Melksham Makers’ Market returns to the Market Place on Saturday 28th June, from 9am–2pm.
Now in its fifth year, the volunteer-led community market is run by local lasses Sarah Hillman, Nicola Coleman, and Catherine Carpenter, who are passionate about championing local creativity and supporting small businesses.
With essential support from Melksham Town Council, the trio organise and host a lively market that brings together a brilliant mix of traders on the last Saturday of the month from April to September (excluding August).

Each market features around 20 small, independent businesses – and many are proudly based right here in Melksham. June’s line-up includes favourites like Happy Hounds Bakery, Florrie & Jean, Humphrey Designs, The Holistic Mummy, Sandridge Brownies & Bakes, and the award-winning Roc & Floss Coffee.
“We feel so lucky to be able to use the Market Place as our venue,” says co-organiser Sarah Hillman. “It’s such a central spot and it looks absolutely brilliant when all the stalls are set up and buzzing. We love seeing so many familiar faces each month – there’s a really lovely community feel and it’s great to see customers coming back again and again.”
“We’re always being asked if the market is here every month,” adds Nicola, “and the answer is yes; we’re here on the last Saturday of each month through the summer! The market has become a lovely part of the town’s calendar and a brilliant way to support the fantastic makers and creatives we have locally.
“If you’re after handmade gifts, delicious bakes, natural wellness products or just a really good cup of coffee, there’s something for everyone – and plenty of friendly faces too.”
