A Melksham man is raising money for the NHS by doing a 24hr bike marathon on his exercise bike.

Dave Assis completed a 24 hour cycle last week – only stopping for toilet breaks – and cycled over 300 miles.
And he is doing the same again today, Thursday 30th April.
“In fact the crazy fool is doing it once a week until we come out of Lockdown,” said his friend, Neil Cogswell. “Dave is a personal trainer and lives in Melksham he has set himself a target of raising £1,100 and so far is on £300.”

“I am doing a 24hr cycling challenge to raise money for the NHS I will be doing this challenge every week one day a week until we come out of the lockdown,” explained Dave. “I will start at 9am and will finish the day after in morning.
“The only times I will stop is to go to the toilet that is it and even that I will add that time at the end to make sure I will do the 24hrs on the bike.
“And remember guys every penny counts; the NHS has been working day and night to fight this covd19 so this is my way of saying thank you NHS for all your hard work.”
