This year’s Melksham ParkFest, Friday 19th July at King George V Park, will see FunBoy2 joined by guest Dj “ Special T ”, bringing his vast knowledge and collection of Old Skool Ska, Calipso, 2Tone & Reggae tunes which will get you in the party mood.
Then all aboard the…Train to Skaville, formed in 2011, Train to Skaville have built up a reputation for becoming West Wiltshire’s finest purveyors of Ska, Reggae and Rocksteady. During this time the Train have played their way to headline slots at festivals and have rammed pubs throughout the West Country and beyond.
Covering songs by such notaries as the Specials, Madness, Bob Marley, Toots & the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff and Bad Manners, Train to Skaville are the ultimate party band to get you on the right track for a great evening.
Headlining ParkFest this year will be The Neville Staple Band, the legendary front man of The Specials, Fun Boy Three and Special Beat, also known as The Original Rude Boy. Neville said, “I see the massive reactions to the hit songs like Ghost Town, Too Much Too Young and Gangsters, the music just makes you want to dance, the beat and the rhythm makes you want to move. I turn all our live shows into a massive party. The crowd love it and sing along! We are looking forward to making ParkFest and Melksham Party in the Park’s 20th anniversary very special.”
The party carries on to the next day at Melksham Party in the Park, Saturday 20th July with another great line up including Kirsty Clinch, Indecision, Folk Lift Truck, Burbank and headliners Take@That, with more bands to be confirmed shortly.
