This year’s date for your diary for Melksham Party in the Park is Saturday 20th July.
Organisers say, “We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in style and hope to draw the biggest crowds the park has ever seen. Already booked for ParkFest (Friday 19th July), the warm up party the evening before Party in the Park, is The Neville Staples Band, with FunBoy 2 and Train to Skaville.
Organisers say, “Neville Staple, legendary front man of The Specials, Fun Boy Three and Special Beat, also known as The Original Rude Boy, is credited with changing the face of pop music not only once, but twice. He celebrates a super 40-year career in the music business which has been well documented.”
Neville said, “I see the massive reactions to the hit songs like Ghost Town, Too Much Too Young and Gangsters, the music just makes you want to dance, the beat and the rhythm makes you want to move. I turn all our live shows into a massive party. The crowd love it and sing along! We are looking forward to making ParkFest and Melksham Party in the Park`s 20th anniversary very special.”
Other bands and future news of ParkFest and PITP will be announced in further issues of the Melksham News.
