At this year’s Party in the Park there will be a Jamaican carnival decorated themed area.
Bruce Burry, on behalf of Party in the Park said, “Music will be played throughout the day, provided by LMP (Lyke Minded People) to bring a unique vibe to this year’s event, playing genre’s such as Reggae, Ska, Chart, Old School R n B and House, so hopefully something for everyone.
“We would like to ask other DJs in the area to assist LMP as they are trying to promote young talent within the community, so if you think you are good enough please get in touch with LMP via their facebook page www.face book.com/lykeminded – you could be one of the stars at this year’s PITP
“Appearing in the arena area will be Dee Dee Wilde’s Dance Club, A few years ago Dee Dee started a dance club in Wiltshire, for people who were interested in dance and learning how to ‘boogie on down’. Dee Dee incorporates dance exercises and dance routines reminiscent of her days as a dancer with Pans People on TVs ‘Top of the Pops’. A fun way to keep fit and exercising the mind and body at the same time.
“On the main stage in the afternoon we have the talents of Courtney Buchanan from Melksham. 16 year old Courtney is now a firm favourite at local gigs in the area. Supported along the way by Melodious Music / Mobsta Promotions, run by Mel Austin, Courtney reached the national final of TeenStar in 2013 performing to thousands at The O2 in London. “She performs her own songs as well as covers.
“Also appearing is Tom Vigar. 15 year old Tom is co-founder of Bradford on Avon Young music. The singer/songwriter has already performed at the Bradford Roots Festival and impressed at the recent Colerne Music fund gig in April. Along with Tom and Courtney will be Izzy F, our youngest performer at this year’s PITP at 13. From Sutton Benger she has been recording a debut album to be part of her portfolio of evidence for application to The Brit School, and performs regularly at The Pilot and other local venues. We congratulate Izzy on having recently reached the final of this year’s national TeenStar competition which takes place at the NEC, Birmingham on 19th July, and we wish her all the luck in the world with that.
“So, MELKSHAM, big support for Izzy is needed as she performs her dress rehearsal at our PITP!
“As the big day gets closer we will be up dating our website www.melk shampartyinthepark.co.uk almost daily so keep checking for news and information. If you would like to contact us, please email melkshamparty@fsmail.net
