A JustGiving crowdfunding page has been launched to raise money to pay for a CCTV system to be installed at Sunflowers Preschool.
The pre-school, on Ruskin Avenue, has suffered vandalism and thefts recently, and parent Jon Ramsbottom wants to be able to help improve matters.
Writing on his JustGiving page, Jon said, “Over the past week, they have had their outdoor play house broken into, not once, but twice by local youths.
“This isn’t the first incident either. They’ve had play equipment stolen, fires started, and various acts of vandalism of recent months – and it’s time this stopped!”
The money raised from the JustGiving appeal will be used to repair the damage to the play area, and to pay for the CCTV system.
Jon said, “This isn’t just fixing something – but it’s going to prevent these horrible, thoughtless acts going forwards!”
Donors left messages of support on the JustGiving page. One wrote, “Fingers crossed this will stop the vandals!” Another said, “Good luck with the fund raising.”
At the time of writing, the JustGiving page had reached £170 of its £500 target. To support the appeal, please visit: www.just giving. com/crowdfunding/ jon-rams bottom
