COLERNE Music Fund (CMF) is set to host its sixth annual School Choirs Festival at Kings Park Primary.
The event is to take place on Friday 5th July at 6.00pm.
Four primary schools are taking part. They are Bowerhill, Forest and Sandridge, Kings Park and Manor. Previous Melksham venues for the festival have been at the Manor and at Bowerhill.
CMF was formed in memory of music teacher, Sheila Stanton, who died of cancer nine years ago. CMF help with the nurturing of musical talent of all types and among all people, but particularly among youngsters.
Singing on the same programme as the children will be Daniel Guest whose severe speech difficulties have been eased by lessons paid for by CMF.
Local young talented singers that CMF has supported are Jordan Whatley who left Melksham Oak Community School last summer. Jordan received help from the fund with the cost of an electric mandolin. The fund also helped Courtney Buchanan with the cost of travelling to London to compete in the final of the TeenStar competition at the O2.
Tickets will be on sale on the door at £3 for adults and £1 for school-age children.
