A RIVER Mead dinner lady has been given a fond farewell by staff and pupils after 15 years’ service.
Wendy Pearce started at the school in 1999 and in that time she has seen the name of the school change, children become adults and many colleagues come and go.
At a leaving ceremony recently she was presented with flowers and chocolates as a thank you for her service to the school.
Wendy said, “I am very grateful for the support everyone has given me over the years. I have seen children become adults and even parents themselves. My son came to school here during my time and he is now 19!
“It is a great school and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Although, one thing I won’t miss is the washing up!”
