MELKSHAM Seniors’ Brian Warwick will be stepping down as chairman and carry on in the role of president, and he is asking volunteers to take over the workload to ensure the group continues.
Brian currently takes on majority of the roles around admin, publicity, events, film showing, consultations, fund raising and spokesperson, due to a lack of volunteers.
He said, “If the Seniors is going to continue to thrive, we now urgently need to spread to workload and ensure we do identify more volunteers to take on the effective role around key tasks.”
The group would like to appoint officers to a variety of posts including eight members to form a committee, an events secretary to arrange speakers and liaise with organisations, a volunteer to plan the films and venues, a social secretary to organise International Day and the Christmas party, publicity and updating the website, fund raising and IT training and external services.
Brian continues, “Please do let me know by the 21st March if you would be prepared to help to develop a sound and progressive Seniors Forum in our community. We need to ensure we do our level best to keep active as we all get older and be able to continue to live at home. The Seniors can help us all to achieve that aim, so please do whatever you can to help us succeed.”
