The first-ever outdoor screening of the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms will be hosted by Melksham Town Council on Saturday 14th September in King George V Playing Fields.
The event will start at 7pm and run until approximately 10.30pm, with one interval, and the concert will be broadcast live on a big screen direct from London’s Albert Hall.
The event is open to all and free to attend, with donations welcomed towards the mayor’s charity, Julia’s House.
Evie’s Kitchen will remain open throughout the evening serving a selection of hot and cold refreshments, but the public is also encouraged to bring their own picnics to enjoy whilst watching the concert. There will also be an on-site bar until 10pm.
The Last Night of the Proms is the final concert of the BBC Proms, an annual classical music festival held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It is known for its audience participation and features a mix of classical music and traditional British patriotic pieces, including ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Land of Hope and Glory.’
