A donation of 100 footballs from Melksham’s McDonald’s has helped support Melksham Town FC’s youth teams during training sessions, preparing them for matches this season and beyond.
Melksham Town FC’s youth teams encourage those aged seven to 16 years old to get involved with the sport and compete in junior leagues.
With McDonald’s support, the club says it has enabled them to continue to keep membership fees low and give access to youth football regardless of background and ability.
The Youth Chairman at Melksham Town FC, Adam Young, said, “The Melksham Town FC youth teams are hugely grateful to McDonald’s for its sponsorship and supply of training equipment for our team. We look forward to working with McDonald’s to continue to provide a safe and fun environment for children to play football.”
Owner and operator of Melksham McDonald’s, Mike Guerin, has been supporting grassroots football in the local community as part of McDonald’s Fun Football programme for many years.
He said, “Youth football is important for our community, which is why we support local teams through each restaurant, and I am delighted to help support the Melksham Town FC youth teams by providing the new training equipment. I look forward to hearing how the team performs in their upcoming fixtures.”
McDonald’s is the longest-standing supporter of grassroots football in the UK and has worked with the Home Nation Football Associations for more than 20 years.
Now in its 21st year, McDonald’s Fun Football programme is committed to providing over 10 million hours of free football opportunities to over one million children by 2026. McDonald’s Fun Football sessions will take place across the entire UK.
