MELKSHAM Town FC are set to face Salisbury FC in the Wiltshire Senior Cup final this month, as the fixture has been set for Wednesday 27th April at Hardenhuish Park in Chippenham, kicking off at 7.45pm.
Melksham will have their work cut out against the side from Wiltshire’s only city; Salisbury FC have lost only two league games this season and are comfortably at the top of the Sydenham’s Wessex Football League’s Premier Division.
However, Melksham manager Darren Perrin is confident the squad – who have lost only one game since Christmas – have got what it takes to win the title.
“We’re going into this game as massive underdogs,” Darren Perrin told Melksham News. “But I trust my players and I trust that the people of Melksham will get behind them and turn out to support them. Everything points to a Salisbury win, but write Melksham off at your peril. This team is more than capable of beating Salisbury in one match and it’s going to be much closer than a lot of people are expecting.”
