After celebrating their first anniversary in April, the Melksham RFC Walking Rugby Team are looking for new members to join their growing club.
The club is open to men and women of all abilities, aged 18 and over.
“Walking rugby helps with physical health, wellbeing and social inclusion,” said coach Richard Grieshaber. “It’s a good opportunity to meet and make new friends.”
Training takes place on Monday nights from 6pm to 7pm, and matches take place once a month. The club also participates in festivals and tournaments throughout the season.
“We currently have around 20 members, but we are always on the lookout – we would love some more women to join us,” said Richard.
“As for tournaments and festivals, we came third in the latest Dorset and Wilts Walking Rugby tournament, but mainly enter festivals as they are just friendlies and we go to have fun.”
