A SEVEN year-old from Melksham is making a name for himself on the motocross circuit following some impressive results.
Charlie Richardson, who attends Forest and Sandridge Primary School, is in his first year of competing but has already claimed a place on the podium in his club championship, competed all across the UK and has been selected to compete in a national championship.
He first started riding when he was just three years old after he received a PW50 bike as a Christmas present and moved on to racing a KTM50 at the age of six. Now, he competes for Portsmouth MX Club and gained second place at a recent club championship event, also claiming a few race wins along the way.
He has impressed his club so much that he was selected to represent them at a race meet in Doncaster earlier this year and was also invited to compete in the individual grand slam championship in Wales.
The secretary of Portsmouth MX Club said, “Charlie has come out of nowhere, and has improved and upped his game as the season wore on and to finish second in his first year of racing is attributed to his desire to succeed. His record of high scores has been phenomenal.”
Charlie’s aim is to win the championship next year and take the top step on the podium. Not only will Charlie be competing in club championships, he will also be attending national championships all over the country.
Charlie’s mother Suzie Bramley said, “We are extremely proud of his determination and dedication to his much-loved chosen sport.”
