ENIGMA Twirl Team is looking for new members as the club look forward to an exciting 2014 following last year’s success.
The team takes part in various community events throughout the year in Melksham and neighbouring towns, showing off their skills that they work on at training.
The team trains every Thursday evening at the Manor School from 5.00pm-9.00pm with anyone interested in joining advised to call Tanya Denning in advance as the age and experience of the individual will depend what time they train.
This year the team is hoping to take part in the Melksham Party in the Park and Carnival again, as well as some of the local school fetes. Tanya Denning said, “We performed at lots of events last year and it was the first year that Enigma took part in the illuminated carnival season and entered several carnivals on the Wessex Circuit. We had a great first year out and managed to come away with two third places and one second place. The atmosphere and team spirit was electric!
“Being our first year of doing these carnivals we are thrilled, and can’t wait for 2014’s carnival season to come around, To say that we had a successful end of year competition is an understatement. We came home with 1st x9, 2nd x6, 3rd x6, 4th x4 and 5th x1. We also won 3 special awards where team member Mia Green won the Personality of the Year Award shield, Charlotte Howard won the pre-teen spin elimination section and the troupe’s dedicated dad – Darren Ephgrave – won the Parents’ Basic Strut.
All troupe leaders and trainers are absolutely ecstatic with these results, and how the troupe has developed, not only with skills, but also as a troupe, and pride ourselves as being the Enigma family.”
Enigma is still looking for sponsors and help with funding. They are currently trying to save for a suitable vehicle that will tow their music trailer, and be able to transport the team to and from events as a group, rather than separate vehicles.
If you want to know more about training or how to help with funding, call Tanya on 07702 808079.
