AT last week’s parkrun, 262 people took part – 56 of those being first-timers.
Organisers say, “Festive season over-indulgence was undoubtedly a factor, but we’ve seen numbers steadily increasing since we started. Melksham parkrunners have now covered over 38,000km here!
“We’re very pleased to see new people joining and easing themselves into parkrun gently and we’d encourage anyone thinking about it, but not sure if it’s for them, to give it a go.
“You don’t have to book, sign in when you arrive or even be sociable, just register on the Melksham parkrun website, print off your barcode and turn up and run.
“Spa Medical Centre and Giffords Surgery are now both ‘parkrun practices’ so it’s easier than ever to discuss it with your doctor if you feel it would help.”
