A PUPIL of St Mary’s Primary School, Broughton Gifford, has shared a letter of thanks to the Melksham Community Support team.
11-year-old Safiya Reda wrote the letter for an English project, which asked pupils to write a letter to somebody in isolation, or to those who have been an inspiration.
Safiya chose the Melksham Community Support team – the service that was set up in response to the Covid-19 pandemic to support residents in need – as volunteers had supported members of her family.
In her letter Safiya said, “I decided to write this letter to thank all of you, because you’ve helped deliver medication and provisions to a few of my family members who are shielding and served many other people in our community, like running errands or giving people a call and much more.
“How has your lockdown been? Mine has been interesting for the majority of time, but, I’m missing my friends considerably. I’ve been making lots of arts and crafts, videos and spending time in my garden. I have also designed some rainbow keyrings, which I’ve shared with the members of my family, that you have helped.
“Hope you and your families stay safe.”
