MELKSHAM Assembly Hall has announced the next big name movies headed to the town’s silver screen as the weekly showings become more and more popular.
Another four films are lined up before March is over, and more people are attending the showings than ever.
Deputy operations manager at the hall, Daniel Moore said, “We had 369 people come along to see The Lady in the Van, which is an incredible turnout.”
The next films to be shown will be Brooklyn, Goosebumps, Dad’s Army, and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.
Brooklyn (12A) will be on Friday 18th March from 7.30pm. The film stars Saoirse Ronan as an Irish immigrant who lands in 1950s Brooklyn. She quickly falls into a romance with a local, but when her past catches up with her she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.
Goosebumps (PG) will be on from 10.30am on Saturday 19th March. Teenage Zach (Dylan Minnette) teams up with Hannah (Odeya Rush), the daughter of young adult horror author R. L. Stine (Jack Black) after the writer’s imaginary demons are set free on the town of Madison, Delaware.
Dad’s Army (12A) is scheduled for Friday 25th March, 7.30pm. A star-studded cast includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bill Nighy and Michael Gambon, as the Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard platoon deals with a visiting female journalist and a German spy as World War II draws to its conclusion.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip (PG) will be on on Saturday 26th March from 10.30am. Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave, but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.
Morning showings cost £4 per adult and £3 per child, and evening films cost £6 per adult and £3 per child. For more information about any of the above dates or to book tickets, visit the Assembly Hall in the Market Place or call 01225 709887.
