MELKSHAM Town Council is to approach landowners to request they “gift” land for tree-planting.
The open green space between the electricity sub-station on Farmers Roundabout and the Avonside Enterprise Park; and scrub land located near the double roundabout outside River Mead School, have been identified as potential areas for the council’s tree-planting scheme.
At a town council meeting last month, councillors agreed to first identify the owners of the land, before writing to them to ask that they gift this land to the town council for tree-planting.
