MELKSHAM Assembly Hall has a whole host of blockbuster films coming up for your entertainment.
Suffragette (12A) will show on Friday 29th January at 7.30pm. Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne-Marie Duff star in this British period drama that tracks the story of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State.
Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie (PG) will be shown on Saturday 30th December at 10.30am. Life always seems complicated for good old Charlie Brown, who always tries his best against seemingly impossible odds.
The Lady in the Van (12A): will be shown on Friday 26th February at 7.30pm. Written by Alan Bennett, and starring Maggie Smith, Alex Jennings, Roger Allam, Deborah Findlay and Jim Broadbent. A man forms an unexpected bond with a transient woman living in her car that’s parked in his driveway.
Brooklyn (12A): will be shown on Friday 18th March at 7.30pm. An Irish immigrant (Saoirse Ronan) in 1950s New York falls for a tough Italian plumber (Emory Cohen), but faces temptation from another man (Domhnall Gleeson) when she returns to her homeland for a visit.
Goosebumps (12A): will be shown on Saturday 19th March at 10.30am. Upset about moving from the big city to a small town, young Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets his beautiful neighbour Hannah (Odeya Rush). The teen is surprised to learn that Hannah’s mysterious father is R.L. Stine (Jack Black), the famous author of the best-selling “Goosebumps” series. When Zach accidentally unleashes the monsters from the fantastic tales, it’s up to Stine, his daughter and Cooper to return the beasts back to the books where they belong.
