LOCAL man, Jim Law, has expressed anger over damage caused by vandals to Primrose Nature Walk, an area which provides a quiet place forĀ residents and walkers.
The transformation and upkeep of this once deserted area, is carried out by another local man, Steve Rolfe, and many have expressed their thanks to him for his continued hard work.
John and Gail Harrison wrote in our last issue and said, āJust a few lines to say a big thank you to Mr. Steve Rolfe for the fantastic job he is doing at Primrose Nature Walk giving everybody such magic walks either on their own, with friends or walking the dogā
Jim Law then added this week, āSteve works hard for all to enjoy what he is doing to the area that was just an ugly overgrown area, now looking like someone owns the placeā
Sadly, not all residents are treating the area with the same gratitude. Vandals have come into the area and have started to strip the bark from a tree used for a seating area. The seating area was put there to allow residents to enjoy listening and watching the local wildlife.
Jim Law continued, āWhat is it with people today that they have to spoil work thatās there for all ages to see, listen, and learn and enjoy.
āAlready we have two kingfishers visiting the area, long-tailed tits, blue tits, blackbirds, sparrows, goldfinches, greenfinches, and lots of other birds as well as dragonflies, butterflies and many other insects.ā
It seems that vandals are not the only issue in this area as dog owners are also not picking up the mess their dogs leave behind.
John and Gail Harrison said, āItās not the dogās fault, just the lazy owners who canāt be bothered to pick it up and bin it. Why donāt they get their heads out of their backsides and keep it clean for all?ā
