A local village came together for its 67th summer fete last month, welcoming families, neighbours and visitors for a day of fun and games.
Seend Village Fete organisers said this year’s event was the biggest yet, with classic cars, live music and a range of activities for all ages.
Children enjoyed Kids’ Corner, hosted by Seend School, alongside Wild Edge Adventure, Roc and Box Coffee, Seend Playgroup, Kelly’s Petting Farm and Super Pirates.
Two new attractions, a Story Tent and Craft Tent, were also introduced, while the Artisan Avenue showcased local makers.
Music came from Fantasy Radio, Melksham Ukulele Band and Frome-based Bloom Duo.
One of the lead organisers, Liam Bergin, said: “Play felt like the perfect theme this year, it’s exactly what the fete is about, bringing generations together to have fun in a shared space.”
The event was made possible by volunteers, local support and sponsors including Seend CLT, The Gym, The Flyer and Melksham Tyre Supplies.
Alison Bottomley was awarded this year’s Bernie Prolze Prize for her outstanding contribution to the fete.
The fete also welcomed Princess Freya, Prince Monte and Court Bethany, who continued the tradition of schoolchildren opening proceedings by cutting the ribbon.
Organisers said planning will now begin for the 68th fete in 2027.
