A village hall has brought football back to its community pitch after replacing damaged goalposts with help from local businesses and the Football Foundation.
Shaw Village Hall purchased two new goalposts after the original equipment was damaged, leaving the community unable to use them.
The new goals were made possible by a £250 donation from Chippenham Conservatories and Windows, alongside funding from the Football Foundation.
Kieran Powell of Shaw Village Hall said, “Without donation, small benefits like this do not happen. There are multiple ideas and objectives that Shaw Village Hall are trying to achieve but as with everything, cost restraints have prohibited progress.”
The donation also has a personal connection to Shaw, with Rob Ballard, director of Chippenham Conservatories and Windows, being the son of Mary Tidball (Ballard), who was a teacher at Shaw Primary School for 17 years.
