THE New Inn in Semington is launching an open mic comedy night later this month, giving budding comedians the chance to showcase their talent in front of a live audience.
The event will take place on the last Wednesday of the month at 7pm, with the launch night being held on Wednesday, 28th March.
Landlord Ken Gibbons said, “It’s a chance for all budding comedians to come and try out their material.
“We want the New Inn to be known for live entertainment. We already run an open mic night for singers and musicians; this is a chance for the next Michael McIntyre to come and hone their craft on a live stage.
“There are not many opportunities in the area for comedians to gain the experience of performing in front of an audience, so hopefully this will give them some valuable experience.
“Also, we are on the look out for support acts for our summer events, so if they impress us and the crowd, there might be more opportunities down the line for them.
“Anyone wanting to perform should turn up on the night. We have new PA equipment and there will be a compere.”
