THE long-established jewellers in Melksham town centre have new owners.
County Jewellers, who have three other branches in Wiltshire, have bought West Country Jewellers.
“We’ve got exciting plans for the shop,” said owner Tolston Middleton, who will be running the Melksham shop with Keanu Lovell. “We are planning to give the popular shop a modern transformation while maintaining the shop’s reputation for quality and customer service.
“We believe that Melksham is a successful town and we know that the people of Melksham deserve nice things! That is why we are passionate about providing the best service possible and building friendly relationships with our new customers.
“County Jewellers is a family business and has been trading for 25 years, starting in Royal Wootton Bassett, followed by Marlborough and then Calne last year. We opened in Melksham on the 4th of December taking over West Country Jewellers, which operated here for 31 years and before that as Charles Hart Jewellers.
“Our plan is to take the best from West Country Jewellers and introduce a few new ideas and contemporary designs including our range of luxury watches.
“We are now the largest working jewellers in Wiltshire and this has only been possible by our unrivalled in-house repair and jewellery manufacture, which the major high street jewellers do not do!
“We repair on average 250 jewellery items each week and 150 watches.
“We also have our own jewellery workshop where we have been doing extremely well making bespoke jewellery – anything is possible!
“We hope to create something truly special here which will help support Melksham town centre and the local community.”
