Physiotherapist, Elinor Anderson, has joined the team at Lowbourne Osteopaths in Melksham, complementing the clinic’s holistic approach.
Elinor has many years of experience as a physiotherapist and has worked in Scotland, Singapore and the US. She has been settled in the Melksham area for a number of years now.
Elinor specialises in joint and spine rehabilitation post-injury or surgery and in treating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME using the Perrin Technique, which helps to promote movement of lymphatic fluids and calm the central nervous system.
Throughout the years she has worked with a broad range of spinal and musculoskeletal problems and she is skilled in helping patients to manage pain more effectively.
Through manual therapy and by teaching relaxation techniques, setting individual goals with graded exercise and educating about pain, Elinor is able to help patients return to active life and increase confidence in managing their pain, resulting in a more enjoyable and fulfilling life.
New guidelines for managing back pain have been recently released by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) stating that the focus should be on risk assessment and a package of care including manual therapy, exercise and self management.
Physiotherapy provides this multi-component care package, increasing movement and well being in the patient and is an effective long term approach.
